A broad range of events, which include festivals, recreational activities, Arts and Cultural events, Workshops and many activities take place throughout the year. Weather Horse Racing in Gaoth Sáile, Campai Samhraidh, where children( & adults too!!) learn arts and crafts through the Irish Language, walking a Blue Flag Beach at daybreak or listening to traditional music in a local pub is your idea of heaven, there is an event in Erris for you.
During the winter and spring the local Arts Centre is a hive of activities with film, concerts, drama and many more cultural events. Venues such as the Gateway Leisureplex offer bowling events and activities for every age group. The festival season runs during the summer season with Literary Festivals (Force 12), Arts Festivals (Feile Iorras), Community Festivals in Gaoth Sáile (Horse and Dog Racing), Feile Béal an Mhuirthead around the traditional Fair Day in August, Currach racing in Eachleim to mention but a few.
